I've been stitching together sections of the Idaho Centennial Trail this spring. The southern Idaho desert has a vibe in spring time that is hard to explain. It's extreme desolation and beauty is easy to miss in the immensity and dryness of it all.
I've been working my way south from I-84 and finally made it to the Bruneau Canyon overlook last week. If you haven't been to the overlook it's about a 1.5 hour drive from Boise and totally worth it. I can't believe in the 14 years I've lived here I've never made it out there.
